D Day: Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy to come under increased pressure as the Dail will debate a motion of no confidence later today

The Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy will most likely come in for some stiff questioning today as the Dail will debate a motion of no confidence regarding his future in his position.

Although it is highly likely the Mr Murphy will gain the support of many TDs within the Daily this afternoon, he could be put under increased pressure over the housing and homeless crisis.

Mr Murphy who has been heavily criticised over his handling of the situation in recent weeks is expected to addre ss the Dail later today. s

The motion of no confidence was submitted by the Sinn Fein party who have called for change as the housing and homeless crisis has reached an all time high in recent months.

Although Fine Gael and Fianna Fail say they will not vote against Mr Murphy, a number of other opposition parties have said they may support Sinn Fein’s motion.

It is believed that many opposition TDs have grown frustrated at the lack of development when it comes to addressing the issue which has also become a matter of public concern within recent weeks.

However Fianna Fail say they will back Mr Murphy stating that a change in position would not help the overall issue.
