According to a recent survey conducted by the property website Daft.ie, it has been revealed that a staggering 62% of the Irish voters have said the prospect of solving the current housing crisis will be the main reason they will vote.
The survey also found that 40% of voters felt that there was no political party best equipped to address their current housing concerns. Meanwhile of the remaining 60% who chose a political party 13% found that Sinn Fein was best equipped to deal with the housing situation, whist 11% found Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil as the main parties to address the situation.
Of the remaining parties the Independents faired best at 7%, whilst Labour and the Anti-Austerity Alliance scored 6% and 5% respectively. Meanwhile the survey also revealed that 78% of people asked indicated that they do intend to vote in the coming election. With 14% saying they are not sure whilst 8% said they will not.
