A meeting in the Dáil had to be canceled after a major row between the Technical Group and the Ceann Comhairle, the row also meant that the Dáil was suspended for the rest of the day.

The schedule for the day was seriously disrupted this afternoon after three members of the Technical Group were thrown out of the chamber in a row over speaking rights. It is understood that discussions were held up for almost two hours amid as the Ceann Comhairle, Sean Barrett, suspended the Dáil three times, with votes also required to remove Catherine Murphy, John Halligan and Thomas Pringle.

It is believed that the heavy dispute relates to a decision by the Ceann Comhairle to give some of the Technical Group’s speaking time to two members of the Reform Alliance.
