The Tánaiste Simon Coveney has confirmed that the US President Donald Trump will officially visit Ireland either November 12th or 13th.

Mr Coveney’s comments come after the US President confirmed last week that he is coming to Ireland for an official state visit in order to renew deep historic ties between the two countries.

According to The Sun newspaper, Mr Coveney confirmed the dates for President Trump’s visit whilst speaking at Fine Gael’s annual think-in.

Although the date has to be officially confirmed, Mr Coveney said that he expects President Trump to visit Ireland following his trip to France where he will attend Armistice commemorations.

The Tánaiste also told reporters that although he doesn’t agree with many President Trump’s policies, he does believe that the US President is not a racist and that he should be welcomed upon his visit to Ireland.
