The Minister for Justice and Equality Charlie Flanagan has revealed that Ireland will accept a further 330 refugees in 2018.

In announcement today Mr Flanagan said the Government have informed the European Union that the state is willing to accept the additional migrants as part of their agreement which was outlined in 2015.

Speaking about the Government’s agreement Minister Flanagan, said Ireland will happily meet its obligations by accepting over a 1,000 people from Greece in 2018.

Ireland previously agreed to accept over 1,500 refugees by the end of next year with that number set to expand in 2019.
