Police in the North have launched an investigation after an elderly couple were attacked in their home in Co Down on Friday evening.
It is understood the investigation comes after the couple aged in their 70s were attacked and robbed in Warrenpoint at approximately 8pm on Friday evening.
Police say three men forced there way into the couples home and assaulted them.
It is believed one of the thieves threw the elderly woman to the floor, whilst another grabbed the elderly man by the throat.
Officers investigating the incident say a sum of cash, a mobile phone, three white gold rings and a leather wallet were stolen from the scene.
Although thankfully no one was seriously injured in the incident, it is believed that the couple were left deeply traumatised by the incident.
