Police in the North have launched an investigation after a man aged in his 70s was tied up by a gang of ruthless thugs who ransacked his home.
The sickening incident which occurred in Pomeroy, Co Tyrone, has reportedly left the elderly pensioner baldy shaken.
It is understood the man was attacked by six men who were wearing balaclavas and were armed with a crowbar at his home on the Camlough Road, at approximately 7:30pm on Friday evening.
The man who suffered minor injuries in the attack was forced to lie on the floor restrained as the ruthless thugs ransacked his home for over 30 minutes.
Police say the thief’s stole a number of items including the man’s phone before fleeing the scene.
It is believed the man managed to contact a nearby neighbour who raised the alarm.
