There is absolutely no escaping this fact – homelessness in Ireland is increasing, fast!
Focus Ireland came out today and announced that a gigantic 83 Irish families are being made homeless every month. This astonishing figure comes hot on the heels of Joan Burton and Enda Kenny announcing that Ireland would be taking in 4,000 migrants over the next couple of weeks.
One gentleman who recently became homeless told our reporter “I believe we should be looking after our own first, I’ve become homeless and there is very little help out there for me because the government doesn’t care”.
The overwhelming problem was highlighted last December when a man died while sleeping rough outside the front of the Dail on Molesworth Street.
