Disgraceful: Vets at Galway SPCA forced to remove dog’s eyes after he was shot with a pellet gun




In a tragic story veterinarians in Galway have had to remove a husky dog’s eyes after he disgracefully was shot in the face with a pellet gun.

The dog named Macari was rushed to the Galway SPCA after he was discovered in a distressed state after being attacked, vets and the clinic initially thought the dog, had been stung by a wasp or ant when he was first brought to them. However, after a number tests were carried out vets horrifically discovered that Macari had been shot multiple believed to be pellets from a pellet gun . After the discovery leading vets at the Galway SPCA decided to remove Macari’s eyes to avoid further pain and swelling.

Meanwhile the Galway SPCA released a statement regarding the incident on their Facebook page saying :”We sat and talked it through. This is a big boy. A husky. A dog who likes to be active. Would he cope without his sight? Would he learn not to bump and bang into objects like he was doing and would he mentally be able to cope with confinement and restriction.We want only what’s best for Macari.”
