In another act of violence this weekend, a lone gunman entered a business premises in Orlando, Florida earlier today, and systematically killed five people.
The assailant, who killed himself after the shooting, was identified as John Robert Neumann, Jr. Neumann was an Army veteran who had been honorably discharged in 1999, and also a former employee at Fiamma Inc., from where he had been dismissed last month.
Neumann entered the premises occupied by Fiamma Inc. and calmly shot five people in the head before killing himself. The motive for the killing seems to be revenge against other employees at the firm. Police said that he ‘singled out’ certain people inside the building.
Local authorities have ruled out any terrorist links, and believe the gunman acted alone.
