Gardai in North Dublin have launched an investigation after a pregnant woman was threatened by a gang of ruthless thugs as she attempted to stop a mugging of teenager in Portmarnock last week.
According to Dublin Live, the terrifying incident which was part of several muggings organised by up to 100 youths occurred on Wednesday October 31st.
The woman who spoke to Dublin Live, said the shocking incident happened in the Strandmill Avenue, when the group of youths decided to target two young teenagers whilst they were walking home.
It is believed that one of the teenagers was beaten up by the gang and had a number of items including cash and a Xbox One controller stolen from him when they took his backpack.
Dublin Live say the woman was then targeted by the ruthless gang when she tried to intervene and stop the attack on the other teenager who was being beaten whilst he lay on the ground.
Speaking to the paper the shocked woman told them that the gang of thieves then threatened her when she tried to stop the incident.
It is alleged that one of the ruthless thugs threatened the woman by shouting that he would cut her unborn child out of her and chop the baby up in front of her, before another youth threw a bottle at her face.
It is believed the group then fled the scene before they went on to carry-out another mugging.
Meanwhile Gardai say they have been informed about a number of incidents occuring in the area and in particular the mugging of a teenager in the Strandmill Avenue area at approximatley 7pm on Wednesday October 31st.
