Disgusting: Iarnrod Eireann launch investigation after woman is filmed racially abusing Indian passenger on-board a Limerick train

An investigation is underway after a Limerick woman was filmed racially abusing a fellow passengers Ion a train journey over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

The incident which was filmed by another passenger has been condemned by Irish Rail and many on social media after it was uploaded within a matter of minutes.

According to reports it is believed the woman who has not been named was seen shouting at her fellow passenger during a dispute after the man believed to be from India left his bag on a vacant seat.

The appalling footage which was filmed on Sunday afternoon on a train from Colbert Station to Limerick Junction apparently shows the woman shouting at the man telling him “go away and f**k off back to India”.

However the woman’s barrage of verbal abuse didn’t stop there as she is also filmed talking to the man and telling him to: “Speak fucking English when you’re in fucking Ireland, we don’t speak fucking Indian when we’re in fucking India.”

In a brief statement Iarnród Éireann have said they are appalled by the woman’s actions and they do not condone any such behaviour by any of its passengers. They also say they are currently in liaison with the Gardai after they were altered to the incident by a concerned customer.
