There has been widespread support for the Co Limerick Fire Brigade after a shocking and sickening video appeared online showing their firefighters being attacked by a gang of youths over the weekend.
Reports say six firefighters were disgracefully set upon by the ruthless thugs after they were called to a green in Garryowen at approximately 8pm on Sunday evening.
The horrifying video shows 15 youths coming together on the green to fire rocks at the firefighters, they also used planks of wood, shovels, and pool cues to attack the defenceless men.
Gardai say number of the firefighters, were injured in the sickening attack, however thankfully they did not need hospital treatment.
Gardai say they are currently conducting a ongoing investigation into the incident, however no arrests have yet been made.
