The Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe has responded to recent speculation that a protest will be held outside his home by saying that any protest held outside his house or the homes of any politicians is completely unacceptable.

Mr Donohoe made his comments after reports that Aer Lingus pensioners are due to hold a protest outside his home in Drumcondra, Dublin this evening over changes to their defined benefit pensions scheme.

He also stated that he will not bow to public pressure. Mr Donohoe also says that he is outraged about the plans for a protest outside his home this evening saying it is “going too far”.

Mr Donohoe told reporters: “Targeting the home of any politician is absolutely unacceptable, but it will not play any role at all in influencing any decision that I make,” said Donohoe. “I will not allow such behaviour to influence any such decisions that I make.”
