Don’t forget the sunscreen – beaches more than likely will be packed this weekend as Met Eireann extend their status yellow warning

Thousands of people will no doubt be flocking to the beaches around the country this weekend as Met Eireann confirms they’ve extended their yellow status heatwave warning until this evening.

Although temperatures are not expected to reach the highs of earlier this week, the national forecaster say it will be still be relatively warm with temperatures expected to range between 22 to 25 in costal regions, whilst it will be between 26 to 28C in the Midlands on Saturday.

The latest update comes as the country has been in the middle of heatwave that has already brought temperatures that have reached a sweltering 32C in some parts.

However the latest update has come with some bad news for those living in the West as Met Eireann say some showers are expected to arrive by late afternoon, early evening on Saturday.

The extended heat warning now means that Ireland will enter it’s sixth day of hot and humid weather following five previous days of glorious sunshine and high temperatures.
