Don’t take my photo – Gardai want legislation to stop their images being shown on social media

Gardai are holding their Annual General Meeting down in Kerry this week.

They’ve taken umbrage at the fact that the Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald isn’t there tonight as she’s said to be caught up in meetings.

One of their major gripes is that they no longer are happy with gardai having their images shared on social media.

The entire force took serious heat over the water charges debacle. Many videos were shared on social media and the gardai aren’t happy that people are seeing what they were involved in with the content of viral videos on social media.

They’re now looking for legislation which will stop their images being shared on social media.
