Retailers in the capital say they’re down at least 60% as a result of the bus strike.

They’re claiming that specifically today, the inclement weather has forced people to stay indoors rather than walk or cycle into town.

Jack Murray, a pharmacist told The Liberal:
“We really noticed it hard today. You could see the foot fall was majorly down and our takings are down at least 60% directly as a result of the strike”.

He on further to say:
” I think the fact they’re striking for so many days, it will soon see the public turning on the drivers with little sympathy from retailers too”.

Further stoppages are planned for next Tuesday and Wednesday as well as 11 more strike days until the end of October.
