Dreams of an all Irish Champions Cup final are over as Munster are defeated by Racing 92

Any hope of an all Irish final in rugby’s Champions Cup has ended as Munster were defeated 27-22 by Racing 92 in Bordeaux this afternoon.

Munster who were hoping to follow in Leinster’s footsteps were dealt a major blow as they conceded three tries in the first 21 minutes to effectively put them out of the game.

Although the men put up a spirited performance following the break, they will be left wondering what could have been.

Munster who will now turn all their attentions to the Pro 14, were left to rue missed chances and only came into the game late on scoring consolation tries via Simon Zebo, Rhys Marshall and Andrew Conway.

However despite the late rally it will be the French side who will take on Leinster in Bilbao on May 12th.
