The 2018 Fleadh Cheoil is well and truly underway and the town of Drogheda has seen a massive increase in visitors over the past few days.
In what will be considered a memorable moment for the Co Louth town, the 2018 festival has seen a number of acts from the young and old light up the streets in recent days.
The festival which will run until Sunday, has already seen a mas influx of visitors visiting the town in recent days and the overall event has already been considered an overwhelming success with many locals enjoying what has been put on offer.
Heading into the busy weekend traders in the town have reported a high increase in sales, with pubs and restaurants said to be doing extraordinarily well in particular.
The week long event which will see a number of headline acts over the next few days has been greatly welcomed by the town’s residents with many locals praising and applauding those preforming in the event.
Many locals have said the much loved Irish cultural event that showcases the best talent from across the country and indeed across the world has provided a welcome boost to the town.
Meanwhile many traders are hoping the event will highlight what the town has to offer in terms of a cultural and social aspect.
