Drogheda Priest asks for prayers “to prevent first abortion” he claims is due to take place in Lourdes hospital tomorrow morning

A text message circulated around Co. Louth and beyond over the weekend which read:
“The first abortion in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda is scheduled for first thing tomorrow morning, Monday 7th. The priests in Drogheda have asked for prayers that the woman will have a change of heart and not go through with the procedure”

At 10:30am mass this morning in St. Mary’s Church, Drogheda, the priest announced during offertory prayers that an abortion was to take place in Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital on Monday morning and asked for prayers to change the baby’s mother’s heart and prevent the abortion taking place.

The age of the baby due to be aborted is not known but this latest story is unlikely to deter pro-life campaigners who have been planning awareness events outside hospitals where abortions are due to take place.
