Dublin Bus to receive €1bn investment over the next ten years to restructure its network




According to reports today Dublin Bus will receive a €1bn investment over the next ten years that that will see its network being completely restructured.

The proposals for the large investment have been put forward the Minister Transport Shane Ross who has claimed the redevelopment of the network is needed in order to save the city from severe traffic congestion.

Although the investment is considered to quite large Mr Ross claims a redevelopment of the Bus service would save the state and taxpayer millions in the long run.

It is believed that the current traffic congestion is already costing the city €352m a year and this will rise to €2 billion a year by 2033 if nothing is done.
