The colleagues and friends of the man brutally shot dead whilst on holiday in Majorca last month has setup a fund raising campaign to help his partner and their three young children in the months and years ahead.

Workers at Dublin City council decided to organise the fund for Forty-one-year-old Trevor O’Neill who was shot dead in front of his family on August 17 on the Spanish holiday island of Majorca.

Mr O’Neill who was an innocent victim of the attack was a drainage inspector for the council. The fund is being setup to help his wife Suzanne who is not automatically entitled to benefit from his pension.

To assist his family financially in the years ahead, his work colleagues have set up the Trevor O’Neill Memorial Fund with trustees including Dublin Lord Mayor Brendan Carr, colleagues from Dublin City Council and the IMPACT Trade Union.

Donations to the fund can be made by cash or cheque to Dubco Credit Union at 2, Little Green Street, Dublin 7, by debit or credit card over the phone on 01 8870400, or by electronic banking to the Dubco Credit Union Account {IBAN Number: IE69DUCU99101010608669 (BIC Code: DUCUIE21) }

Council staff say any donations will be gratefully accepted.
