Dublin Fire Brigade are calling on the public to check in on their elderly friends and neighbours after they responded to a call on Thursday morning.
The call comes after a unit from Phibsborough Station, were called out an elderly woman in distress after she suffered a fall overnight.
It is understood woman was left on the floor all night in freezing cold temperatures.
In a post on Twitter, Dublin Fire Brigade said the following: “The last two nights were very cold, we hope you kept warm?
“How about vulnerable family, friends and neighbours? Give them a call, see if they are okay.”
“Yesterday morning, Phibsborough Firefighter/Paramedics responded to calls of distress from an elderly person who was unable to get off the floor of their home.”
“They were on the floor all night. Treated and transported to hospital for observation.”
