DUP concerned about Brexit draft text and fear it could eventually lead to the breakup of the UK

The leader of the DUP Arlene Foster has claimed that the latest Brexit craft deal could potentially be the catalyst that will ultimately see Northern Ireland being broken off from the rest of the UK.

In an interview with Sky News, Ms Foster has said that she and her party would read the current agreement even though they were concerned by the narrative of the text.

Ms Foster who has strongly opposed any plans that would see Nothern Ireland remain in the customs union separate from the UK , also said that Northern Ireland will not diverge from the UK and will not be bullied by the EU.

The DUP leader who claimed the whole process is ‘worrying times’, revealed that she had a frank meeting with Theresa May on Wednesday evening.

It is believed that the pair met after the British Cabinet agreed to proposals on Wednesday afternoon.

Ms Foster did however state that the British PM knows where the people of Northern Ireland stand on the issue and any plans to change its status would see consequences within the British Parliament.
