Eamon Dunphy claims Fine Gael’s “arrogance” is the reason they didn’t get an overall majority

Debating ex-Taoiseach John Bruton on Claire Byrne Live last night, pundit and journalist Eamon Dunphy put the boot into Fine Gael claiming that it was their arrogance that didn’t garner them more seats.

The 69-yr-old didn’t hold back in saying that he felt the arrogance shown by the Taoiseach and his party members over the past month really got stuck in the electorate’s teeth.

Instances such as Enda Kenny calling his own supporters in Mayo “whingers” and claiming “they wouldn’t know sunshine if they saw it” lead to Dunphy’s remarks.

Many people on social media agreed with the pundit, with one Dublin woman saying:
“Dunphy is hit or miss, but on this occasion I totally agree with him”.
