Eamon Ryan: “The Green party can make a real difference when the Dáil resumes”

The Green Party have said they believe they can make a real difference when the Dáil resumes.

The party who held their pre-Government think in, have said they want to bring about change. According to party leader their top priorities include a directly elected mayor for Dublin, which would provide real leadership regarding the current transport and homelessness crisis.

The party also say they want to introduce a much needed banking legislation for public banking which will encourage more lending.

Mr Ryan said: “We’re concentrating today and looking into this next Dáil term as to what we can do, and there’s some examples of things we can still do.”

“One of the advantages of minority Government is that it actually brings responsibility to the Opposition as well as the Government to start putting forward real solutions, and that’s what we want to do.”
