Early weekend washout: Met Eireann issues a yellow status rainfall warning for seven counties as heavy rainfall is expected over the next 24 hours





The first part of this weekend is set be a washout for some areas as the national forecaster Met Eireann issued a yellow status rainfall warning earlier today.

According to the forecaster up to seven counties is expected to see heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours. Met Eireann say there will be between 30 to 40mm of rain expected in counties Offaly, Limerick and Tipperary.

They also say there will be between 40 to 50mm of rain in counties Galway, Mayo, Clare and Kerry. The weather warning will remain in place until 6pm tomorrow and the national forcaster has warned those in low lying areas to be prepared for some flooding.
