According to various sources it is believed that eight children aged between 18 months and 15 years have been found dead at a house in the Australian city of Cairns, reportedly after a horrific mass stabbing.
A spokesperson for Cairns police have said “Cairns detectives have established a crime scene and begun an investigation into the deaths of eight children this morning.” It is also believed that a 34 year old woman, was injured in the incident.
Policy say the woman is in a stable condition in hospital and assisting detectives with their inquiries. According to the Australian Associated Press the dead children were all siblings and the woman was their mother.
They also say that another sibling, a 20-year-old man, arrived home and discovered his brothers and sisters dead inside the house.
