Eight people have appeared before Longford District Council charged with the sale and supply of controlled drugs.
According to RTÉ News, the Eight accused consisting of seven men and one woman appeared before the court on Wednesday evening, after they were arrested by Gardai who carried a series of searches in the town on Wednesday morning.
It is understood all eight accused were released on bail and are due to appear before a court at a later date.
Meanwhile a second woman who was arrested during the search operation, has been released without charge.
