An 82-year-old woman lost her life yesterday after being struck by a car as she attempted to cross the road.
The incident happened at around 7:15pm last night, on the N20 near Ballinabanouge, Croom, Co. Limerick.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was uninjured.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
