Election 2016: Fine Gael’s Peter Fitzpatrick sends out 1000’s of unsolicited text messages practically begging Louth people to vote for him

At around a quarter past eight last night, Peter Fitzpatrick must have topped up his phone with literally thousands of euro… the Fine Gael TD sent out 1000’s of unsolicited SMS messages to unsuspecting Louth constituents.

The bizarre message simply addressed from “Fitzer” – as if it was some sort of college nickname the whole county knew him by, practically begged people to vote for the 54-yr-old today at the polling station.

“Fitzer” must have felt he needed to do something drastic after an absolute atrocious Vincent Browne debate last week on TV3. His mumbling answers made him look like a complete amateur compared to the first-time runners nevermind a sitting TD.

The text message “Fitzer” sent out last night didn’t go down well with Louth residents.

Barry Rock from Ardee told The Liberal:
“Peter Fitzpatrick has some cheek sending out a message and just assuming we want it. What I want to know is where did he get or who did he buy my phone number from?”

Ann Meegan from Dundalk claims:
“Well I was going to give Peter my number 2 but after the text message I’m leaving him out. It was too big brotherish for my liking”.

Fitzpatrick’s text message can be viewed below:
