In one of the most private celebrity illnesses of recent times, various statements released needed full clarification from Elton John’s statement.
The 70-yr-old singer spent 50 hours in hospital, including a stay in intensive care, where he was treated for what has been described as a “rare virus” he contracted during his South American tour at the weekend.
With all the recent celebrity deaths, Elton John released the following statement saying he has been ferociously ill but has been moved from hospital to his home on further medication.
In the statement, Elton John said:
“I am so fortunate to have the most incredible and loyal fans and apologise for disappointing them.”
“I am extremely grateful to the medical team for their excellence in looking after me so well.”
