Ireland may soon be at the center of a doomsday scenario, as a possible volcanic eruption in Spain may trigger a mega-tsunami which could obliterate us.
The Spanish island of La Palma has been rocked by up to 40 seismic tremors in recent days, and residents now fear that the Cumbre Vieja volcano may be about to blow.
Theories exist that an eruption at Cumbre Vieja may destabilize La Palma’s entire western seaboard, plunging it into the Atlantic Ocean. If the terrain fails and sinks into the water, it could trigger a super-tsumami up to 900mts high.
Computer models show this mammoth country-killer travelling as far as the eastern US seaboard and as far north as Ireland, causing devastation and decimating the population of many cities.
Cumbre Vieja last erupted in 1949 and 1971.
