Dapper Laughs aka Daniel O’Reilly, has lost his career over a number of jokes he was taken up on this week.

Londoner O’Reilly, who has an Irish father, shot to fame through social media. He made videos for Facebook and Vine and has a following of well over 2.5 million fans combined.

He got his own show on ITV 2 called ‘On the pull’, showing men lacking confidence how to chat up women. He also had a tour lined up for next year of his live show.

But all that has come to an end this week. The comedian joked about a homeless girl he met and said “your place or mine,” he went on to say “nice boobs, not sure if it was a low cut top or just ripped”.

That received innumerable complaints from homeless charities who said 90,000 children are homeless in the UK and it’s not a funny subject.

But his remark in a live show is what has finished him. He said that one particular girl was just “gagging for a rape”. When a video emerged of this, ITV pulled his show.

O’Reilly says he’s retiring the Dapper Laughs character, and will move on. Many feel it’s impossible to get past these blunders.
