The INMO confirmed last night that nurses will strike on March 7th over the lack of staff members.
Government intervention has failed after the executive council of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation met today to consider whether the offer put forward by the Health Service Management was enough to resolve the dispute and call off the planned strike, it wasn’t.
Nursing unions have constantly said that staff levels are at least 3,000 members short of that what’s required to man the hospitals around the country sufficiently.
The INO have claimed that the nurse strike has “full support” from the public.
