Rita Ann Higgins, Mary O’Rourke and George Hook left no stone unturned when it came to their thoughts on growing old, “gracefully”.
From Rita saying older people shouldn’t be forced to downsize to Mary O’Rourke getting entangled in a discussion with George Hook about his parts not working and the parts of her’s that do.
Sadly, Mary said how deeply she misses her husband even still on a daily basis.
George said the worst thing about growing older for him is the muscle below the belt not working but making sure the muscle above the neck is.
It was a jovial and entertaining piece, watch it on the RTE player if you can.
But it was also a serious and slightly sad piece showing other elderly people who felt loneliness.
