ESB preparing for busy schedule as storm Dylan brings down power lines across the country

Storm Dylan has battered the country overnight leaving somewhat of a trail of destruction in its wake which will have service crews working long and hard this new year’s eve.

Although the damage may have only occurred in some areas the ESB say they are preparing for a busy day and possibly a week ahead after the storm battered the country in early hours of this morning.

Crews are expected to be out clearing up fallen power lines and restoring power to homes and businesses across the country.

In a statement late on Saturday night the country’s main electricity provider said they are preparing for the worst after Met Eireann revealed the storm was set to hit the country with 125/km/he winds.

It is expected crews will be needed in the North West of the country as counties Sligo, Mayo and Donegal will suffer the most after feeling the brunt of the storm.
