ESB say 14,000 homes are without power this evening after a fire broke out at an ESB substation in Inchicore




It is understood that least 14,000 homes in West Dublin are currently without power this evening after a fire broke out at an ESB substation in Inchicore.

A spokesperson for the ESB has said the fire began at approximately 7:25pm after a transformer experienced a technical fault. Dublin Fire Brigade have confirmed that nobody was injured in the blaze which happened in the manned 220kv substation on Bluebell Avenue.

The ESB also say they fire has resulted in power outages in Lucan, Tallaght and Inchicore. It is believed that crews from the ESB Networks are working frantically to restore power. Reports say Dublin Fire Brigade units from Tallaght, Dolphins Barn and Tara Street are also attending the scene.
