The honeymoon is over, the Brexit negotiations which forced the EU elites to cosy up to Ireland in a bid to heap more pressure on the U.K over Brexit have fallen apart.

While European and world leaders discuss the UK exit from the EU at the global economic forum in Davos, Switzerland a rift in the alliance of several key EU states and Ireland in demanding Brexit concessions from Britain has emerged.

The EU have considered an arrangement with Britain that is similar to the relationship between EU and Norway or Canada.

However, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said this is not acceptable as the size of the UK economy, the UK-Irish border and the dependence of the Irish economy on British markets dictate a much closer relationship is an absolute necessity.

The EU’s chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier, along with French Prime Minister, have stated emphatically that this will not happen.
