EuroMillions winner contacts Lottery Headquarters to claim €88.5m prize – reports suggest winning ticket was bought by factory syndicate in Co Cork

Today the search still continues for Ireland’s newest millionaire after the eye watering €88.5m EuroMillions jackpot was won last night.

Although it has not been officially confirmed where the sole winning ticket was bought, it is believed that National Lottery HQ have said the winner has contacted them this morning.

According to rumours circulating on social media the winning ticket was bought by a 34 person syndicate in Cork, with many suggesting workers at the Glounthaune Johnson and Johnson factory were the lucky winners. However conflicting reports suggest the winning ticket was bought in Limerick.

The winning numbers drawn for the mammoth jackpot worth €88.5m were 01, 05, 07, 17, 23 with the Lucky Stars being 03 and 08.
