Facebook has revealed that five million EU-based accounts were affected as part of last week’s security breach.
It is thought that up to 50 million accounts may have been compromised.
The company’s engineering team believes that hackers were able to exploit a vulnerability of a particular Facebook feature called ‘View As’.
Facebook is expected to announce further details over the coming days.
