Some TDs got hot under the collar today, after being branded ‘amateurs’ during a session in the Seanad this afternoon.

There were heated exchanges during the session, as accusations flew between the participants.

The team in charge of negotiating Ireland’s bid were branded ‘amateurs’, prompting some colourful rhetoric.

Ireland lost its bid to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup to France. The whole affair cost €4m.
