Families of two young men tragically killed in a car crash release horrific video showing their final moments before the crash

The families of two young men killed in a car crash in the UK have agreed to release this horrific video of the young men in their final moments before they crashed their speeding car into a church wall.

The truly heartbreaking footage which was filmed inside the Renault Clio shows driver Kyle Careford, 20, and his friend Michael Owen speeding along dark country lanes whilst they were intoxicated on a cocktail of drugs. The terrifying video shows Micheal appealing to his friend to slow down by repeatedly shouting out “slow down, slow down” and “come on, come on”.

The video starts off showing the youngsters driving down a residential street, enjoying themselves but then a concerned Michael is heard shouting: “Slow down Bruv, we are doing 90”. However a few moments later the camera goes completely black and the harrowing sounds of the crash in the village of Rotherfield, East Sussex, can be heard. It is believed the car smashed into a church’s stone wall and rolled over a number of times. The two young men from Tunbridge Wells in Kent were sadly declared dead at the scene. The tragic accident has now prompted their families to release this heartbreaking footage in a warning to other young drivers.

Speaking after the inquest, Michael’s mother Kat told the Mirror: “We bring our children up teaching them right from wrong. We guide them and give them our advice and hope they listen, but once they are adults we hope they make the right choices.” “I really don’t know why the boys chose to do what they did, but I blame them both for the decisions they made on this night. “If all this stops one person from making the same mistake, then some good has come from showing this video. I’m hoping it will have an impact on young people and make them see that a bit of fun can have such devastating consequences. “I would like all the young people out there to take notice and realise that you are not invincible and take seriously how precious your lives are to yourselves and others. I want young drivers to consider how much devastation it causes to the families and loved ones that are left behind.”

Mrs Owen added: “Watching the video was very upsetting, but I’m hoping it can be used in a positive way, by showing young people what could happen to them.”
