The family and friends of Limerick native Jason Corbett who was tragically killed in the US recently have launched an urgent appeal for financial assistance. Mr Corbett’s family have made a public appeal for donations in order to help bring his children home.
Mr Corbett was tragically killed in after he sustained fatal head injuries during a domestic incident at his family home in North Carolina last week. It is understood that Mr Corbett’s two children have been taken into the care of their stepmother’s family for the time being, and will be the subject of a custody hearing on this coming Friday.
Speaking on the behalf of Mr Corbett’s family here in Ireland, friend Mary Fitzpatrick told the press that a bank account has already been setup so that people can donate to help out with the cost of the court case.
Mrs Fitzpatrick said: “We’re appealing to people’s hearts. Please, please if you could reach in, and if it’s only €5 or €10, we’re going to receive it very gratefully and it will go a long way to supporting this family.”
