A 48h protest outside 14 meat factories is getting underway this Sunday afternoon. The demonstrations will be held outside plants run by Kepak, ABP, and Dawn Meats.
Farmers claim that they are getting paid far less for a kg. of beef than their UK counterparts. They say they are receiving €1 less per kg. than farmers in the North.
There were urgent talks held on Friday, aimed at preventing further protests, but these broke down without agreement.
