Farmers under pressure this week as fodder to be imported due to the awful weather

Farmers are under immense pressure this week as the bad weather of late has meant there’s a severe lack of fodder for their livestock.

The Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed has confirmed that the department of Agriculture is now actively procuring fodder from abroad in an effort to fix the extremely serious fodder crisis.

The dreadful weather that is still continuing at the start of April has seen grass grow at 1/6th its usual level for this time of year.

It’s understood that a number of farmers haven’t even got enough fodder to last until next week while a small number say they have enough until the end of April.
