After EU attempts to stifle Italian democracy fail, Italian populist, Eurosceptic parties succeed in forming a government.

Two anti-establishment parties, the Five Star Movement and The League will form a government in Italy after months of political wrangling since the March 4th General Election.

The FSM’s Guiseppe Conte will be sworn in as Prime Minister while The Leagues Matteo Salvini will become Deputy Prime Minister.

This coalitions attempts at forming a government had been scuppered earlier this week after Italian Europhile president Sergio Mattarella vetoed the appointment of Paolo Savona as finance minister as he is not obsequious enough towards the Brussels led Bloc.

Many Italian citizens and politicians questioned the logic of holding elections if they can simply be dismissed by a servant of the EU.

The leader of the Five Star Movement even called for the President to be charged with high treason after he sided with the EU elite over the Italian people.

However, a compromise has since been reached and the two parties will now form a government and they have stated they will immediately seek to roll back austerity, deport hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants, write off hundreds of billions of banking debt and use the Italian navy to halt migrants crossing the Mediterranean.
