Feeling tired? New study claims sleep deprivation and driving can be worse than drink driving

A new study from UCLA in California claims that people who are sleep deprived are actually working on significantly less functional power than those who get the magic 8 hours in bed.

The study claims that sleep deprivation is something that you can’t catch up on, so for example, if you only get 4 hours one night, 12 hours the next night won’t make up for the previous lack of 4 hours sleep.

It says that there’s a specific gate for people to get asleep and either before or after it will make it difficult to sleep.

Experts also say that sleep deprivation can be as bad if not worse than drink driving because parts of the brain can actually shut themselves down in order to ‘sleep’ and rest while the person is awake.

The frightening study shows that’s imperative for people to try and get as much sleep as possible before hitting the roads or making any significant decision-making.
