The Fianna Fail party have blasted the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and claimed that the Fine Gael leader is trying to provoke an early General Election by making false accusations.

According to RTE News, the party’s outburst comes after the Taoiseach made comments questioning Fianna Fail’s position on the current confidence and supply agreement.

However in a stern rebuttal Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin said that his party “will not rise to the bait” and they committed to the agreement.

Mr Martin who also labelled Mr Varadkar’s comments provocative and dishonest, said that Fianna Fail will only review the agreement following the upcoming Budget in October.

Although Mr Varadkar has moved dismiss his counterparts comments, both parties have been embroiled in a war of words in recent weeks in regards to reviewing the current agreement that will see Fine Gael remain in power with Fianna Fail’s support.
