Peter Casey announced in today’s Sunday Independent that he intended on joining the Fianna Fail party, running for them in Donegal and eventually becoming Taoiseach.
Whether Micheal Martin panicked or whatever happened, it’s understood that Fianna Fail have firmly shut the door on Peter joining the party and running for them in Donegal.
Speaking on “The week in politics”, Fianna Fail’s Niall Collins said that Fianna Fail have two on their ticket in Donegal and that Peter Casey can’t just “rock up” to a political party and tell them what he’s going to do.
The other option for Peter of course is to start his own political party – something that he initially didn’t rule out, but then did – however, this revelation may see him reconsider that position.
